About Customer
Sovos Turkey, part of the global tax compliance leader Sovos, entered the Turkish market in 2019 by acquiring Foriba, a pioneer in e-invoicing and e-transformation solutions. In 2022, it expanded further by acquiring Digital Planet, enhancing its Istanbul-based development center. Sovos Turkey specializes in e-invoicing, e-ledger, and VAT compliance, serving enterprises and SMBs across Europe, the Middle East, and Asia with scalable cloud solutions for digital tax mandates.
Project Requirements
Sovos is having Public and Private Cloud services distributed over 8 different Cloud Service Providers (CSP). This is having the following challenges:
- Different DC & service providers contracting for new customers causes a longer sales cycle.
- Not all data centers can provide expected SLA’s.
- Current RPO is 24 hours.
- Current infrastructure does not allow for application consistent continous replication to a DR site.
- Some of the existing DCs are having storage capacity issues.
- Currently 50% of HSM infrastructure is in end-of-support status.
- TRA Audit requirements cannot be met with existing infra and services causing a TRA Rating 70%.
- Systems are vulnerable to all security threats

There are 2 types of customers for Sovos. Private Cloud and Public Cloud customers.
In the first phase, Private Cloud Customers (30+) migrated from 4 different Data Centers.
In the second phase, 20K+ Public Cloud Customer systems (100+TB Oracle DB) migrated from another Data Center with a 3,5 hours downtime.
Following phases consolidated the remaining workloads on other data centers.
Achieved results
Increased Availability
Public Cloud system deployed on an Oracle RAC cluster to increase availabiliry.
TRA Audit
TRA Rating increased by 29%. 5651-Legal Logging with 2 years retention. High Availability for Layers of Production Site.
Improved HSM Availability
Outdated/mulfunctioning and partially Sovos owned HSMs replaced with brand-new redundant HSMaaS on both Production & DR sites.
Business Continuity
Tier-4 DC (KKB) for Production Site. High Available HSM infra for Prod & DR. 5 min RPO and 30 min RTO to met Enterprise Customers and TRA requirements.
Improved Security Posture
Dedicated HSM’s for Sovos. OS VuM for Public and Private Cloud Systems. Separate VLAN for UAT and PRD. PAM for Server Access. Dedicated VDOMs. IPS/IDS, DDoS, WAF, Load Balancer
Performance Improvement
High Available HSMs provides 430 TPS per device with upgrade option up to 8600 per device. Dedicated Oracle RAC cluster provides more performance.
